Sunday 28th June 2026: Gates Open 12:00pm, Event ends 9:00pm
When does work start?
Equipment starts to arrive on the morning of Monday 22nd June 2026. The showground will be cleared for handover back to the owners on Wednesday 1st July 2026, and we will have security in place throughout.
Where is Youth Beatz?
Youth Beatz will be held at Park Farm Showground, Dumfries.
What is Youth Beatz?
Youth Beatz is a free family educational and music event and each day ends with a concert on the main stage. It is delivered by over 200 volunteers from Dumfries and Galloway.
What’s on?
There will be a wide range of free activities, displays and experiences for young people, families and younger children. We will also be presenting the latest production of “The Toon,” our award-winning, hard-hitting, interactive experience about real life issues facing today’s young people. You can see the full programme at www.youthbeatz.co.uk
I have pets – will there be fireworks?
There will be no fireworks at Youth Beatz 2026.
What about traffic?
As Youth Beatz is aimed at young people the vast majority get dropped off and picked up. Visitors will be directed to use existing town centre car parks and again directed to the safe walking routes. There is a dedicated car park on site for blue badge holders and coaches.
We will have a robust traffic management plan in place. This has been developed with, and approved by, our Safety Advisory Group (SAG), which includes representatives from Police Scotland, Fire Scotland, NHS and Dumfries and Galloway Council.
How will you deal with litter?
Youth Beatz has a dedicated team responsible for collecting litter in the venue as well as in the neighbouring streets. This team will be operational throughout the event and will conduct a thorough sweep of the surrounding area and carry out a litter pick on the Sunday and Monday morning and on surrounding streets.
If you have a concern with litter around your street over the weekend please call the residents number and we will arrange for one of our staff to attend to resolve the issue.
Alcohol
Youth Beatz is a zero-alcohol event, a policy which is strictly enforced. As a condition of entry, visitors will be subject to search, and any prohibited items will be confiscated. Anyone under the influence of alcohol will be refused entry.
Attendees
As the festival is already well established within Dumfries and Galloway, it is important that young people living within the region are given the opportunity to attend the event. As such, there were tickets reserved exclusively for Dumfries and Galloway residents.
Organised Youth Groups from across Scotland are also expected at the event.
Are people camping?
Although the event is over 2 days, there will be NO public camping for visitors. All visitors staying for the weekend will be directed to local accommodation providers via Visit Scotland.
What about the right of way?
The Safety Advisory Group carries out an annual review of the Traffic Management Plan to ensure it remains appropriate and effective. Information specifically relating to residents will be published in due course.
What about noise?
We will try to minimise any inconvenience. We will position our sound stages to face away from homes, and our PA systems will be designed to try to minimise external sound carry. Noise levels will be constantly monitored during the event and we operate all sound levels within safe limits to minimise disruption. Our main stage acts finish at 10.00pm on Saturday and 9:00pm on Sunday.
Toilet provision outside Park farm
We have looked into requests for toilet facilities in the surrounding area to Parkfarm. The advice from the Safety Advisory Group and Police Scotland is that this will likely cause significant issues as we would only be able to put a small number of toilets in place in order that we do not block the pavements. These toilets would cause a blockage with people wanting to use them and quickly become overwhelmed with the amount of waste in them and we would have no way of managing this.
Residents’ tickets
We understand that your co-operation is essential to help us make the event run smoothly, and showcase what a great place Dumfries and Galloway is for our young people on the national stage. As a token of our appreciation, we are delighted to provide you with 4 reserved weekend tickets.
Resident Telephone Number
In order to address any issues you may have during the weekend, we have set up a phone number which is dedicated to nearby households and will operate 24 hours per day. You can contact this number if you need any additonal information or need anything acted upon over the weekend or have any concerns. This number will be active from 10.00am on Friday 26th June until 12noon on Monday 29th June.
If you have an issue over the weekend please call us and we will try to resolve it- we would rather be proactive and resolve any residents issue as they happen but this requires you to inform us- we can only do something about an issue if we know.
The phone number is: 030 33 33 3009
