Oasis Events Team
The Oasis Events Team was established in 2010 and currently consists of young people with a particular interest in music and events.
The group recently won a Young Scot award for their role in Youth Beatz and have participated in events management training as well as taking in study visits to other similar events across the UK.
They are heavilly involved in the planning, organising and delivery of various events and are gaining a valuable insight into the events industry.
The Oasis event team have been working on all aspects of Youth Beatz of the last 12 months including;
Feeding into evaluations
Looking at potential acts
Selecting type of structure for the main stage
Deciding on artwork for promotional materials
Suggesting ideas for daytime attractions
Came up with the whole concept of the introduction of the second stage
Decided on local acts to perform on the second stage
Selecting competition winners from entries
In terms of the event itself, young people on the events team are involved in the set up and breakdown of the site. They also had specific roles during the event in supporting site manager, rotating between different areas of the event includnig backstage area.

Oasis Events Team are a social enterprise based in Dumfries and Galloway.
The Events Team has been part of numerous different types events over the past few years including, Youth Beatz, Nithsdale Community Achievement Awards, Dumfries Christmas Lights Switch On, Common Wealth Youth Summit 2014, Young Quality Scot Awards, Reconnect, Band Nights and much more.
