Youth Beatz Frequently Asked Questions!

Do I need to book a ticket and how much is it?

For Youth Beatz day itself you NEED a ticket, these can be applied for at – if you have already applied and you are currently waiting on your ticket, please be patient and make sure you are regularly checking your spam/junk folder! Once you have your ticket you can either print this off or, if you have a smartphone, you can load the ticket to be scanned on this. If you would like to go to any of our Youth Beatz Fringe events, you do not need a ticket. Please see the Fringe page for details.

What time is the event?

The event will open at 1pm on Saturday afternoon and finish at 9.30pm. If you for any reason need to leave the event, you need to make sure you receive a wristband before exiting as it is this that will allow you to re-enter.

Where are the entrances/exits?

The ONLY entrance and exit to the event is from the Dock Head Carpark. This is the entrance to Dock Park closest to the Whitesands.  You cannot gain entry from Pumpfield Loaning (Next to the Petrol Station) or Kingholm Road.  Security and event staff in pink high vis vests will be present throughout the park and at the entrance to keep you right.

Is there parking?

Brooms Road Carpark is the closest carpark to the event. This is around a 3-5 minute walking distance from the Dock Park. Please note that although there is a car park at Dock Head, this is NOT available for on the day parking as it is being used for our queue system and box office.

I’d like to go through the ‘The Toon’, what do I do?

The Toon is Youth Beatz’ interactive youth information zone and will be situated mid-way down the park towards the stage area. The Toon is in its first year after moving away from the World of Wonka theme and has historically been an incredibly popular part of the event with the tours filling up within an hour or two of the event opening. Spaces on a tour cannot be pre-booked so it is best that your group go straight to the The Toon Box Office situated in the park once they arrive on the day to secure their time slots. The maximum tour size is 10 young people and the entire experience will take one hour. Only for those aged 12-25.

How much money will I need for the day?

It depends on when you arrive in the park and what you would like to do. Thanks to our funders and sponsors for the event, we are able to keep costs to an absolute minimum. The only things you will need money for on the day is food, fairground rides and if you want to do a bit of shopping then our Youth Market and Young Entrepreneurs stall will be selling some goods you might be interested in! Every other aspect of the event will be totally FREE!

Do I need to print my tickets off?

Ideally, you should print your ticket off, if this is not possible and you have a smart phone, you can display your ticket and get it scanned on that. If not, tickets must be printed.
