“Volunteering is one of the most rewarding jobs an individual can do. Being a regular volunteer myself and having helped out at many different events or places from care homes to schools.

However volunteering during Youth Beatz and the fringe events leading up to it has to be one of my most memorable experiences. As it is fully organised and planned within Dumfries and Galloway, to benefit young people in the area. So to be part of such a big event focused solely on giving back to and reaching out to people from my home area was extremely rewarding. Going along to the events and simply helping people, being a friendly face to offer them help or actually helping with the construction of the main event it’s self were all very rewarding. My favourite event of all was the disco organised within the venue nightclub of Dumfries for under 18s. As it was a chance for two young boys who had been working on producing their on music sets. It was wonderful to see so local people getting a chance to show off their skills.

So if you were ever thinking about volunteering I think becoming a volunteer for Youth Beatz would be a very rewarding experience”
