The festival is held at Park Farm Showfield in Dumfries. The land is farm land with grass but is relatively flat. There are a number of gravel roads running through the middle and across the Main Arena.
Please note: The weather conditions can dramatically affect the ground conditions, so wherever possible please try to consider what preparations you may need to make and equipment you may need to bring along.
A viewing platform with a stewarded accessible toilet is located near the stage in the Main Arena.
There will be a stewarded accessible toilet located beside the viewing platform in the Main Arena. There will also be other non-stewarded accessible toilets in the Main Arena.
We welcome assistance animals onto the site. There will be an area provided for toileting and drinking.
There will be general warning signs around the Main Arena if strobe lighting will be used. Due to the nature of the artists it is likely that strobe lighting will be used throughout the performances. There will not be a warning immediately before a period of strobe lighting.
MEDICAL & WELFARE SERVICES
There will be a First Aid and Welfare tent located in the Main Arena that will be easily visible. There will also be Medics and First Aiders on patrol around the event.
FULLY ACCESSIBLE CHANGING FACILITIES
We’re bringing a Mobile Changing Places toilet (Mobiloo) to Youth Beatz. Previously, people with complex needs may have been limited in their participation at the event due to the lack of appropriate toilets. This provides specialist equipment and additional space and should make Youth Beatz 2022 an event for anyone.
If you need to visit the box office on arrival then there will be a hearing loop.
ENTRANCES & EXITS
This year, there will be a second entrance to the Youth Beatz site, located at the South End of the site, next to the accessible and coach car park. This entrance is to ensure those utilising the blue badge parking and those attending as part of a group booking with coach parking are able to easily gain access to the site without crossing the main road.
The entrance will also have a box office where attendees can collect tickets and passes.
Parking is available for blue badge holders to apply for under the Coach & Blue Badge Car Parking section of our website. Your application for parking will be confirmed with you in advance of the event.
A new volunteer programme will take place to encourage people to volunteer as Accessible Stewards. These stewards will be present on site and will be able to specifically assist attendees with additional support needs and disabilities over the weekend. Information on these stewards will be included on ticket information and online to ensure attendees are aware of them.
A ‘quiet zone’ will be created on site. This will be in the form of a tented area with soft seating and will allow attendees to get away from noise and business of the rest of the site.
The area will be located at the furthest point from the stages and fairground and will be staffed by Youth Work staff at all times.
All toilet facilities on site will remain gender neutral for 2022. In addition, all references and requests for attendees to provide their gender pronouns have been removed from the ticketing process.
